Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SpineUp ("SpineUp", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the SpineUp mobile application.

1. Information Processed on Your Device

SpineUp lets you take or select front, right-side, and left-side full-body photos to create posture-awareness reports. The following information may be processed and stored locally on your device:

This locally stored information is used to provide the app's photo journal, visual alignment summaries, report history, comparisons, and settings. Profile answers and tension notes are kept separate from the photo-based score calculation.

2. Photos, Pose Points, and On-Device Processing

Photo processing and pose estimation take place entirely on your device using TensorFlow.js and the bundled MoveNet model. SpineUp does not upload your photos, pose points, posture reports, profile information, or tension notes to a SpineUp server. These items do not leave your device as part of the analysis process.

SpineUp does not send photos or posture-related information to OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, or any other third-party artificial intelligence service. We do not use your photos or posture information for advertising, model training, or sale to third parties.

3. Subscriptions, Purchases, and RevenueCat

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. SpineUp uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, determine subscription entitlement status, restore purchases, and support subscription management.

For these purposes, Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase-related information such as an anonymous app user identifier, product identifiers, transaction or receipt information, subscription status, entitlement status, and limited app or device information required for purchase validation and fraud prevention. SpineUp does not receive or store your full payment card details.

RevenueCat does not receive your photos, pose points, posture reports, photo-based scores, profile information, or tension notes from SpineUp.

Apple's privacy practices are described at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. RevenueCat's privacy practices are described at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.

4. Analytics, Diagnostics, Tracking, and Advertising

SpineUp does not operate its own advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics, or remote diagnostics service. We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising trackers in the app.

Apple may process App Store, purchase, crash, or diagnostic information according to your device settings and Apple's privacy practices. RevenueCat processes the limited purchase-related information described in the subscription section above. Neither service receives photos or posture report content from SpineUp.

5. Camera and Photo Library Permissions

Camera and photo library access is used only when you choose to take or select photos for a posture photo session. You can deny or later revoke these permissions in your device settings, but photo-based features may then be unavailable.

6. Support Communications

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include. We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, maintain security, or meet legal obligations. Please do not send posture photos, health records, or other sensitive information by email.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Photos, pose points, reports, profile details, personal notes, and settings stored by SpineUp remain locally on your device until you delete or reset the relevant app data or uninstall the app. Original photos kept in your system photo library remain there until you delete them through the Photos app.

Purchase and subscription records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies for purchase validation, entitlement management, fraud prevention, support, and legal compliance. Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

8. Data Security

Keeping posture photos and reports on your device limits their transmission. However, no device or storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple Account.

9. International Processing

Apple and RevenueCat may process the limited purchase-related information described above in countries where they or their service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your region. Photos and posture report content are not transferred internationally by SpineUp because they remain on your device.

10. Children's Privacy

SpineUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Health and Wellness Notice

SpineUp is intended for general wellness, fitness, posture awareness, photo tracking, and informational purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical measurements. The Posture Score and regional alignment scores are photo-based visual summaries, not medical assessments. If you have pain, an injury, or another medical concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
